THE THREE TREES {REVIEW}

Title:  The Three Trees: A Traditional Folktale
Author:  Elena Pasquall
Illustrator:   Sophie Windham
Publisher:  LION
Available:  Now
Source:  Kregal blog tours

Genre:  Children's Picture Book

About the book:
This is a retelling of the folktale of three trees who go on to do great things.  Long ago three trees reached their branches toward the heavens and told of the great things they wanted to do.  The Master Builder had greater things in mind as they were each taken away to become an amazing part of Jesus' life.

My take:
I had never heard this particular folk tale but I was very impressed with this retelling.  The illustrations were so wonderful that I could look at this book for hours.  My daughters were equally mesmerized by the story and pictures.  I thought at first it was a Christmas story, but it is an all year story.  All along we can learn that what we want for our lives, may not be what God intended, but what God intends for our lives is the very thing we needed!  What a great present for a young boy and girl on your Christmas list!
