About the Book:
Julia Darling is finally able to marry Paul Otto for eternity. But it’s a harsh world for a rancher in turn-of-the-century Wyoming, especially a Mormon rancher. When alienation and threats begin, Julia must prove she’s her husband’s equal in strength and endurance as she learns to let go of scars on the outside and inside.
Bestselling author Carla Kelly has woven a new story of a determined rancher, his wife, and how they discover the depths of love.
My Take:
Let me start by saying I haven't read much about the LDS (Church of the Latter Day Saints), so I wasn't sure what to expect. I did know Carla is an exceptional romance writer so I thought this would be a great inspirational read. I also didn't realize this was a sequel....I easily found myself caught up in the world of Julia and Paul...but I think I'll probably go back and read Borrowed Light just to catch up on some things that had happened that I want to know more about. I did like this book. Not knowing much of the Mormon religion I learned a little more about them and some of their early struggles in America. Carla's writing hasn't changed at all, she just added more inspiration to her books but it's still quite easy to get lost in the voices of the past.
Recommendation:
If you are looking for something a little different in a romance this is probably up your alley. If you don't really care to learn more about another religion then I'd suggest you shy away, there is a lot of LDS religion. The PG rating was because of all of the sexual innuendo...while the action always happens behind closed doors...you definitely get the idea of what is going on in their minds! Other than those things...very well written and a fun book!

About the Author:
She's well known as a Regency romance author but recently has turned to writing LDS romance. She is the mother of five kids and turned to writing after working with the National Park Service as a ranger/historian. She crochets and likes British crime fiction and talking about the Indian Wars. If you want to learn more about Carla Kelly, visit her at any of these places!
This sounds like a great read especially since you get some insight about another religion.
